Beer

As you may know, we are rather fond of the game Beer Pong. So much so that our entire website is dedicated to the game, and all our different variants of it. From Hen Party Beer Pong to Strip Beer Pong, we really do have a version of beer pong that sure to light up any night!

But did you know that there's also a whole world of beer pong variants we've yet to delve into? Here's a list of some of the best beer pong variants you can play at your next gathering:

Behind the Back

Ever wondered what happens when your ball bounces and you happen to catch it? Well here's a beer pong variant for you. If this event does occur during the game, you are granted another chance at hitting your opponents cups. However, there is one catch; you must throw the ball from behind your back. This can be quite challenging, but not impossible, so give it a go at your next beer pong tournament.

Death Cup

This is a simple yet brutal beer pong variant. Popular amongst many beer pong players already, the Death Cup refers to the cup of beer you must drink once an opponent manages to throw a ball into it. Once you begin to drink the contents of that cup, your opponents are allowed to use their turn to attempt to shoot their ball into the cup you're drinking.

If they do succeed in getting the ball into your cup, your team loses and it is game over!

Russian Roulette Pong

Now for a couple slightly longer beer pong variants. Both of these variants are sure to put a refreshing twist on the traditional beer pong.

  • Place five cups of water and one cup of vodka on the table in a circle formation. Different forms of alcohol can also be used if vodka is just not for you, but ensure all of the drinks look the same.
  • Ensure your opponent does not know which cup is the vodka cup when arranging your cups.
  • Take it in turns to take shots at the other players cups.
  • If your oppenent hits your vodka cup, you lose the game and must drink the contents of the cup. Make sure you don't go overboard with the amount of vodka when pouring the cups to make sure you can make it through the rest of the night!

Battleship Pong

Mixing two iconic games in one is always a winner for us. Make the game all the more intensive by playing two competitive games in one large-scale tournament.

  • Diving into teams of four and set up a 10 by 10 grid of cups on opposing sides of the table. (If you need extra cups, we've got lots in stock!)
  • In true battleship style, the teams must take it in turns to place their ships. The ships consist of 5x cups for an aircraft carrier, 4x cups for a battleship, 3x cups for a destroyer, 3x for a submarine and 2x for a patrol boat. These ships must be filled with liquor and the remaining cups must be filled with beer. Place your liquor ships wherever you like, but be sure to not place them diagonally.
  • Make sure you fill your cups with a smaller amount of liquor than beer to ensure you do not pass out before the end of the game.
  • Each team then takes it in turns to throw the pong balls at the other team's ships. If a ship is hit, the team opposing team must state that a ship has been hit and drink the liquor contents of the cup. The team that hit a ship is allowed to go again.
  • When a beer cup (a cup that's not part of a ship) is hit, the team that threw the ball must drink the contents of the cup.
  • The winners of the game are the team who sunk all of the opposing team's ships!

We hope you enjoy playing these beer pong variants as much as we enjoyed writing about them! As always, be sure to drink responsibly and stop when you've reached your limit. For more beer pong variants, take a look at our products here!
